Hello ppl of the internet~ I am in fact suffering trying to do this and need some guidance please!

TLDR:

I have an extensive internet history, i want to scrub as much of my personal info from the internet as i can and reduce the ability to trace connections between accounts i have and keep it this way going forward. How the hell do i do that?

THE LONG STORY

I have been on the internet for a long time, over a decade by far. This also means my young and blissfully unaware self has surely put all kinds of information all over all kinds of places and by proxy surely has there data leaked everywhere.

I would like to undo as much of the cybersecurity nightmare ive created for myself.

⚠️ I am painfully aware of what an extensive pain in my ass this will be, thats fine. Its also ok if i need to spend a little bit of money to better secure things like paying for a second number, VPNs, a service to remove my data, etc. ⚠️

I am just trying to disconnect personal info (address, legal name, number, etc) from things like my email, social media, anything public facing/accessible.

⚠️ I have had a stalker before, i am thus rather worried about this but would still like to enjoy the internet and the communities ive found/built and so am trying to find a balance ⚠️

– I obviously have my core social media accounts that have existed forever.

– I have probably seven gmail accounts, two custom domains with several emails each.

– I use Proton (yeah i know about the clusterfuck going on… Open to suggestions/advice about this too but i paid a two year plan im like… A year into).

– I also surely have made random ass accounts in all kinds of places, using google logins or even facebook logins for access to news sites or blogs or whatever.

SO FIRST QUESTION/PROBLEM

How the everloving heck do i undo this mess? 🥲

– how do i separate/remove my personal data from the various accounts i have?

– what things might i need/need to consider to do this?

– how do i scrub the history of this information from being found via things like the wayback machine?

– how do i separate accounts to keep them from tracing to eachother?

(as much as possible, i understand reverse image search and such are a thing i cant escape)

– how do i retroactively go scrub any personal data that has been leaked?

– How do i limit accounts on sites that require legal personal infomation from tracing to other accounts?

– how do i set up some kind of system or approach for when i need to make some bullshit account to purchase something or read an article or whatever from tracing back to any meaningful personal data or other meaningful accounts?

THE SECOND QUESTION

How do i prevent this going forward?

– I do social media management and social media marketing work so im not looking to go cold off the Internet and fully private… Just want to know how i can maintain a level of security while i do that?

(i generally assume use the information from the previous section and apply it proactively instead of retroactively, but if theres other things i need to know, please for the love of god let me know)
